Adaptive Technology Training

The use of computers has dramatically increased in both the educational and employment arenas. Fortunately, technological advances in computer hardware, software, and adaptive equipment have provided the opportunity for the blind and visually impaired to compete successfully at both school and work.

The Michigan Commission for the Blind supports the provision of hardware, software, and related adaptive equipment to clients, allowing them to compete effectively in school and employment. However, the Commission clients will not gain the full and immediate benefit from this investment unless they are also provided initial training and experience in using the provided equipment and tools.
